I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of such a beautiful occasion, having the opportunity to create a visual anthology that the couple could revisit and relive for years to come. Every photograph in this blog post is a testament to their love, and I am proud to say they were all captured and edited by myself. Want to see more? Contact me to see a full wedding gallery.

The First Look

The couple choose to do a first look in their traditional outfits. There are many benefits to doing a first look but here are my top three:

  1. Intimate Moment: One of the most significant advantages of a first look is the intimate moment it provides the couple. Instead of sharing that initial reaction with all your guests, you get a private, emotional, and genuine moment together.

  2. Eases Nerves: The wedding day jitters are real. Seeing each other before the ceremony can be incredibly calming and grounding. It offers a moment of reassurance, reminding you both what the day is genuinely about: your love for each other.

  3. More Time for Photos: Having a first look means you can take a majority of your couple's portraits before the ceremony. This means you can potentially join your guests for cocktail hour or have a moment of respite before the reception.

The Formals

Wedding formal portraits are an integral component of wedding photography. While candid shots capture the spontaneous emotions and fleeting moments, formal portraits ensure that the beauty, elegance, and significance of the day are immortalized in a more composed and curated manner.

The Party…

The couple choose to do an outdoor cocktail party prior to the indoor reception. My top 3 benefits of hosting a cocktail party before the reception

  1. Eases Transition: A cocktail party serves as a smooth transition between the ceremony and the main reception. Guests can mingle and settle in, setting a relaxed and festive tone for the rest of the evening.

  2. Photo Flexibility: With guests entertained at the cocktail party, the couple and the bridal party can take formal photos or steal away for a private moment without feeling rushed. I love the opportunity it gives me to take pictures of guests!

  3. Ice Breaker: It's an excellent opportunity for guests from both sides, who may not know each other, to mix and mingle. By the time dinner rolls around, everyone's more acquainted, making for a livelier reception.
