With every couple, I start by asking what they're most excited about. This helps me understand where I should focus and deliver my best. For instance, when I received the pre-wedding questionnaire from the Leesons, they shared that they were looking forward to the ceremony and the reception the most. Working with their planner, Cassandra Carson from Events on Point, we crafted a timeline that kept their preferences front and center. This approach meant I had only five minutes for bride and groom portraits and 20 minutes for details - it was a challenge I was eager to take on.
Wedding Photography that helps you remember what it felt like
In 2024, I've noticed a theme with my brides: they don’t want to pose for pictures. And I completely get it! While you look at my portfolio, that might surprise you, but it’s actually something I embrace. Most of my brides have a clear vision for their day, and they’re choosing to focus on the moments that matter most. It’s a beautiful thing.
Though I am classically trained in fine art photography, my background is also in sports photography. The documentary style that follows emotion and captures candid moments between couples and their guests comes very natural to me. Documentary photography lets you truly experience each part of your wedding day, with more time spent in the present and less time spent in structured poses.
